Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England and with multiple options for ascent makes for a great day our in the heart of the Lake District National Park.The day will consist of an ascent of England's highest mountain from Wasdale Head. The route consists of a series of rocky mountainous terrain, trails and steps. Following the managed paths lower down before ascending the steps of Brown Tongue where you will reach Hollow Stones, a large boulder field form in the last ice age you will reach half way. The path still managed does give way to a more rockier mountainous path. On reaching the summit you will have 360 degree views of the Lake District and surrounding areas and on a very good day you will be able to see as far as the Isle of Man. The descent is via the same route in reverse.
